A frozen copy to work from while the library moves.
During a migration the library you rely on is moved, restructured or locked. ShareClone gives you a local copy of it on your Mac first, and tells you when that copy is complete.
Where it goes wrong today
Before a migration everyone downloads at once, and SharePoint slows requests down. Copies made in a hurry end up incomplete, and nobody notices until a file is missing.
How ShareClone handles it
ShareClone is patient when SharePoint is busy. When it is asked to slow down, it waits as long as SharePoint requests and retries with growing pauses, with a limited number of parallel downloads, so a large library still finishes. Interrupted transfers continue from where they stopped, and a file that changed in SharePoint in the meantime is fetched fresh.
The library shows exact counts while it works. It says “Up to date” only when every file is there, so you know when the copy is complete. Turn mirror deletions off, which is the default, and files that disappear from SharePoint during the move stay in your copy.
What stays the same
ShareClone only reads from SharePoint. It never uploads, edits or deletes anything there, so it cannot interfere with the migration itself.

Questions people ask
Can it handle very large libraries?
It is built for them: it works folder by folder, resumes after interruptions and fetches only changes on later syncs, with a progress line and exact counts. The first scan of a very large library can take a few minutes, and the item count keeps rising while it works.
Does ShareClone upload or change anything in SharePoint?
No. It only reads. It never uploads, edits, renames or deletes anything in SharePoint.
The optional “mirror deletions” setting removes only local files that ShareClone downloaded, and is off by default.
What happens when I go offline or my Mac sleeps?
The library shows “No connection”, waits and resumes by itself when you are back. After sleep, ShareClone resumes, and the Activity log notes that the computer was asleep.
